About Me

I have always been interested in people and the way we interact with each other. Having therapy myself for the first time was transformative and inspired me towards a career path of working with others in a supportive and facilitative way.

I have worked within a range of professional settings and have the following qualifications: a BSc in Psychology (from The University of Hull), a PGCE (from The University of Roehampton) and a Masters degree in Counselling (from Monash University, Australia).

Originally from the Midlands, I enjoyed living and teaching in London before working in Hong Kong for fourteen years. I returned with my family, to live in the UK in 2013, and gained my BACP registration in the same year.

I set up my counselling practice in 2014 and have been working with people in Bath and (via online working), across the world, since then.

I intend to bring warmth, humour and a grounded approach to every working relationship that I encounter.

How I work

Whether this is your first time to counselling, or you have experienced therapy before, an initial appointment is a key way for us to experience what working together could look like and how you feel about the person to person dynamic. Choosing a therapist to work with is an important process - I will be transparent about how I see I can support your needs and I will invite you to reflect on how comfortable you feel before we agree to working together.

Weekly appointments are advisable at the start of therapy. Goals are defined and periodic reviews will be incorporated, to ensure that sessions continue to best meet your needs.

As therapeutic goals are met, the review process will point towards our working together ending. At this stage, we agree when we will bring working to a close with a closing appointment.

I am a Registered and Accredited Member of The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I abide by the BACP Ethical Framework. My BACP registered member's number is: 063740.
